Originally designed to only provide Christmas assistance, Help Give Hope now has a robust year-round mission to assist families with utilities, rent, gas vouchers and educational help throughout the year. They also have a used car program and a mentorship program to provide positive adult role models for at-risk youth.

H.O.P.E. Foundation offers financial and emotional support to families in Missouri whose children, ages birth through seventeen, are battling pediatric emergencies. Their mission is to provide financial assistance that insurance companies, national organizations, and other charities do not handle.  They want to bridge the gap between what is and is not covered.

MO Better Foundation

This grant provides assistance for helps Missourians with physical disabilities by providing funds to purchase items that assist in daily living, particularly those related to technology, transportation, and mobility, acting as a "gap funder" when other resources are insufficient. You cannot apply for assistance "with (i) purchase of adapted vans (ii) medications, (iii) medical equipment, (iiii) medical supplies (v) equipment used in therapy."

The Kids Assistive Technology program (KAT) can provide limited funding for assistive technology, vehicle access modifications, and some home access modifications for children under age 21. Applications for children in families of lower income receive priority. Apps are open year round, but website tells if funds are available or not. There are a funder of last resort. Examples of what they do and don’t fund and qualifications are online. Apps must be printed and mailed. 

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army provides assistance to individuals and families in multiple ways. They desire to "do the most good" by giving to those in need of financial assistance, family services, and so much more. 

United Healthcare Childrens Foundation

Our mission at UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation is to provide medical grants that enhance the quality of life for children across the United States. These grants give kids the care they need by helping with medical expenses not covered, or not fully covered, by their family’s commercial health insurance. 

Parent Tip: "This grant was quick and easy. We received $1500 towards a wheel-chair modified van."
